This blog is moving, the new blog can be found at the new website, Visit the new Finity Software Blog.
The new website has been launched, please check out our new website, Finity Software.
Some big changes are coming to the website, I’m not going to spoil the surprise but a whole new website is on its way, powered by one of the CMS projects I have been working on, could it be OpenSite? who knows!.
What I will say is, it will have a built in blog and support centre, theres a few things that need to be completed before the site goes live for some beta testing.
The built in blog and support centre wont be live when the new site is launched, but sometime after.
Check back for more info soon.
I know I said Odyssey was going to be released a while ago but shit happens and I got pulled away from it, anyway I just finished running Odyssey through phpDoc.
All I need to do is zip and upload Odyssey, which I will be doing sometime this week when I’m not tired - I’m about to fall asleep on my keyboard, check back in a few days to see if Odyssey is up for download.
Well FishHook 1.0 is up for download, go grab it and check it out.
Download: FishHook 1.0
This post is about Odyssey, OpenSite and FishHook - I’ll start with Odyssey.
Odyssey is just about ready to be released, I just need to add a few comments to some classes and functions and then run it through phpDocumentor so people can easily look up the functions for certain things. After 1.0 is released I’ll be starting work on 1.1 which will be changing how the classes are loaded and improving the database class a lot.
FishHook is complete and working like it should, I just need to find the time to export it from the Subversion repository and zip it up, Look for it in a few weeks.
Now onto OpenSite - It’s almost ready, I’ve just been cleaning up some code and moving some files around trying to clean up the file structure, I’ll be starting on the UserCP module for it soon and release an alpha test while I work on the group permissions for pages.
Look for more updates soon.
I’ve just completed the rest of the Register module and the Login module is complete, now for the UserCP and Module Upgrade system - Then 1 more thing.
I’ve discovered I’m going to need to put “Group Restrictions” on pages and I have no idea why I never thought of that before, It came to me when I noticed I could see the Register and Login links in the menu after logging in, So thats another - very, very easy thing to do - and then Beta testing time.
I just finished the User Registration Module, it seems to be working flawlessly - all I need to do is finish up the template for the “Register Complete” page and its done, but the PHP side of it is done.
All thats left on OpenSite 2.0 is the User Login, User CP and Module Upgrade page. More news when I have some.
OpenSite 2 is coming along nicely, I just worked on it a little after a while of taking a break from all the coding things I’ve been doing.
The front part of the CMS is almost finished, I also have to finish off the Module Upgrade system, which shouldn’t take long after I start on it.
Heres a list of what is left:
- User Modules
– Register
– Login
– User CP
- Module Upgrade Pages
As soon as these are finished and ready for testing I’ll upload a beta of OpenSite 2.
I’ve been taking a bit of a break from all the coding, I’ll most likely have a proper job soon which involves coding, go figure.
Anyway, if I’m going to be coding god knows how long every week, it might get a little boring, so a small break on my hobby won’t make things get too boring.
